Part 1:
Part one was communicating with out any verbal sound and it was harder than I thought. During the 15 minutes I was with my family. It was pretty hard to ask for certain things without speaking, For example asking for what flavor of ice cream you want without saying it is hard for the person who is trying to communicate and others. Using hand gestures made it a little easier because you could point at stuff but it was still hard.
Part 2:
This part was also difficult because I speak with my hands a lot. Using vocal expressions made it easier than part 1 but it was still very difficult. Not being able to use hand gestures was really strange for me. When I was doing this I had to sit on my hands so I wouldn't use them. For the others involved they did not know what was going on and it made it hard to communicate.
Part 3:
I realized the importance of language because it is our main form of  communication. Communication is what brings us together and helps us create a culture. After doing this experiment I realized how important verbal and non verbal communication really is. I also realized how I talk with my hands a lot and part B was very hard for me. In conclusion after doing this I realized how important communication really is.

  1. This was a very involved assignment, so I was a little taken aback with your brief response. These are papers, not tweets, and should be expanded and explained fully. Provide detail. Tell your reader the whole story. Teach us something.

Also, make sure you read the guidelines carefully. You are missing a lot of required information.

Part 1: I see a description of your own experience but not that of your family (second prompt). I also don't see where you have addressed the discussion on the issue of the two opposing cultures, the attitudes of the speaking to the non-speaking, or the question asking you to find a situation that mirrors this experiment in real life (3rd prompt).

Part 2: I see a full response the first prompt regarding your own experience. You briefly mention the response of your partners, but this needed to be expanded. No response to the 3rd and 4th prompts for this part of the experiment.

Part 3: Not sure if you understood this section, which was about written language specifically. I don't see that addressed at all, just a comparison between verbal and non-verbal communication which wasn't applicable.

If you have questions on an assignment, email me for clarification.
